Danielle Di Fede: “All Things Theater”

Veteran Actress Danielle Di Fede

Veteran actress Danielle Di Fede, from the College of Fine Arts and Humanities at Brenau University, energized “The Communication Corner”–my weekly interview program on WBCX, 89.1 FM–with a discussion of “all things theater.”

Speaking with the vitality an audience would expect from an accomplished actress, Danielle covered these and other topics:
–Why acting interested her initially
–Favorite productions she acted in
–Performances she has enjoyed seeing the most
–Relevance of Shakespeare today
–“The illusion of the first time”
–Overcoming problems that happen backstage or on stage
–Life lessons that theater participation teaches us
–Origin of the expression “Break a Leg”
–Teamwork required for a successful production

“Search Angel” Susan Stevenson Reunites Families

Have you ever talked with a “Search Angel”? Today I did that for the first time, interviewing Susan Stevenson of Lawrenceville, GA on “The Communication Corner,” my weekly interview program with WBCX, 89.1 FM, “The Voice of Brenau University.” Search Angel means that she helps reunite families who became separated through the adoption process. She offers these services as a volunteer, not a paid professional.

Amazingly, Susan has helped hundreds of families come face to face with parents, children, brothers, sisters, and other relatives, some of whom they haven’t seen for decades. Susan’s searches have been as brief as two days, yet as extensive as five years.

Among the topics you will hear us discuss:
*What motivated Susan to become a Search Angel
*The most dramatic, memorable searches she conducted
*How a family should prepare emotionally for a scheduled reunion
*A registry for those who want to be found and those who are looking
*Medical advantages of finding your birth parents
*The meaning of “Chapter One” in your life
*Shedding tears with a family in a Denny’s restaurant
